Let’s face it – even though we’re busier than ever, most of us find ourselves sitting down, hunched over a computer for long stretches at a time. When we’re not sitting at a desk, we’re in the car. After work, many more hours may be spent sitting on the sidelines at our kids’ sporting events, watching TV, or scrolling our phones. And our bodies are suffering for it.

That’s where Pilates comes in. The perfect antidote to the demands of our modern “sitting” lifestyle, which many physicians are calling a workplace health crisis. Pilates is functional fitness at its finest – a low-impact, full-body workout that improves flexibility, strengthens the core, tightens and tones jiggly bits, increases mobility, improves posture, and decreases stress.
But it’s important to be mindful of how you’re progressing through the exercises. Pilates is subtle, and it’s easy to do incorrectly if you’re trying to follow along remotely via video or other online platform. At Mind Over Mat Pilates, I offer small group classes so that I can help you make adjustments, learn how it feels to do the moves correctly, and gain maximum benefit from every workout.
